Very good fifth entry to what has been an enjoyable series. The focus this time is mostly social, which keeps the book from being more-of-the-same.

The Guardians are the main weakness of the story: They keep intervening, they keep helping when asked - and when you’ve got a dozen apex-level spell casters serving as willing helpers, there isn’t much tension.
