Escaped Daughter – Erin R. Flynn

“Morrigan University” feels like “Artemis University” with some of the serial numbers filed off. The protagonist is still superbly powerful, beautiful, intelligent, wealthy, and up to her neck in lovers (no pun intended). The fantasy background is somewhat different, but the tropes are the same - especially those pertaining to over-entitled people who want what they want and recognize no limits.

I enjoyed “Artemis University”, but wasn’t able to enjoy “Morrigan University”. The main difference is the supporting cast. The bad guys ignore the protagonist’s wishes because she is female. The good guys ignore the protagonist’s wishes because they believe they wish to protect her. Over and over. After a while that stops being an enjoyable read.
